Please pray for Stellan. He is a little boy, who has a “broken heart” (that’s what Mary Fran calls it), and really needs our prayers right now. You can go to his mom’s blog, and read her twitter updates. She updates often.

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
PawPaw went to be with the Lord this morning. Mamaw was able to be with him. He will be greatly missed, I will especially miss his joyful prescence at all of our family gatherings. He was a great man, who was loved dearly by his family. He made a tremendous impact on the lives of his family, as well as the others in our community.
What a comfort to know that he is now with the Lord, seeing sights we on earth have never dreamed of! I think my nieces Mary Fran, and Ruthie have put it so appropriately, “PawPaw is in heaven! He is seeing grand-daddy great, and Daniel! Don’t worry, when we go to heaven, we’ll see him again!”
I really couldn’t put it into better words myself. I’m thankful for Ernie, his life, his love, and most of all his prescence in my life for the past 20 years. He will be greatly missed.
This past Monday night, Dustin and Daphne hosted a cupcake party for Ruthie and LeeAnne’s birthday. Since LeeAnne turned one, she was able to have an entire “smash cake” all to herself. Here is the madness that ensued:
Step One:

Light a candle
Step Two

Listen intently as people sing “Happy Birthday”
Step Three

Stare at your cake
Step Four

Smash a piece of cake between your fingers, and eat!
Ahh, being a one year old is good.

Uhhhhhh, yeah. So I’ve sort of been a little behind on the ‘ol blogging lately. I’ve actually had a lot that I’ve wanted to write/document, but then I would realize how long it takes my computer to upload photos and go find a book to read.
No, I don’t procrastinate. Why do you ask?
So here I am, writing a post. Begging your forgiveness, and asking you to not give up on me or my blog.
Together, we can make it.

Well, with that out of the way I want to give you an update on Ernie. He is still home, and Mamaw is keeping him comfortable. This past weekend, Dr. McBernie came and made a house call to check on Ernie, and said that the damage done by the stroke was pretty severe, and that it was irreversible. Please continue to pray for my family, and especially my grandmother, as this is very hard for her. She is strong, though and an inspiration to me.
Thank you so much for praying! We can definitely feel your prayers! I will be back tomorrow with some pictures of various happenings in my life the past couple of weeks.
Hi All,
Yesterday, my PawPaw Ernie had a heart attack, and was air-lifted to Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte. The Doctors said it was mild, but he needed to have double bypass surgery on either Tuesday, or Thursday of next week. He was resting and in stable condition last night.
This morning when the Cardiologist checked on him, he noticed that Ernie was not as coherent as he was yesterday. Upon further examination, and a CT scan it was determined that PawPaw had a stroke and was suffering with bleeding on the right side of his brain.
The outlook is not good, and it appears that PawPaw will not be here with us much longer. This has come as quite a shock, since we thought he was going to be all right.
Please pray especially for my grandmother, as this is very hard for her. I greatly, greatly appreciate it.
1 I lift up my eyes to the hills—
where does my help come from?
2 My help comes from the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot slip—
he who watches over you will not slumber;

Greetings, friends! I do hope all of you had a wonderful 4th of July! I did. I didn’t do much, but I did enough to make me feel patriotic and spirited!
The first thing on my schedule was to attend my grandmother’s annual neighborhood picnic. I didn’t stay very long, as I had to go back home and pick my mom up so we could go to the Town of Boone’s parade. The parade is always the highlight of my year, even though I’m 21, I still love to go to the parade and try to bum candy from the participants.
Here is what a normal Boone 4th of July parade looks like:

Yes, basically it’s a bunch of different cars and people walking. That’s why I love it, it’s a small town parade at it’s finest!
After the parade, we headed down the mountain to Morganton, NC to go to the Red, White, and Bluegrass Festival. Here are a few pics from that night:

After Dan Tyminski played, it was time for the fireworks!! It was probably one of the best diplays I’ve ever seen. Sadly, I didn’t get any pictures because I still haven’t figured out how to take pictures of fireworks with my camera. I’m learning.
In the meantime, I hope you had a glorious 4th!!

Happy 4th of July! I hope you have a wonderful day celebrating our nation’s independence!
