Filed under: It's Giveaway Time! — mollyepetrey @ 6:30 pm

Got your attention with that title, didn’t I? I know, I’m good like that. With just two words, I have seized your attention, and now your eyes are transfixed on my screen searching for the part where I mention Free Food.

Well, you’re going to have to search a little longer, because I have a whole post that needs to be written before I get to the Free Food part. ‘Cause I’m sneaky like that.

This past Sunday (the 21st) marked the First Day of Summer. And thankfully it was a beautiful day. There is nothing worse than having rainy or cold weather on the First Day of Summer, it’s like a bad omen or something. I love summer-time, it is always great to sit out on the front porch or back deck in the evenings, and just enjoy the night. Or it’s really fun to have a water balloon/hose fight with my nieces, or it’s great to wear flip-flops all day. Yes, I love summer-time, but one of the things I love most about summer is the summer music.

Yes, I have “Winter Music”, and “Summer Music”. ‘Cause I’m weird like that. But nevertheless I have summer music. And you’re in luck, because I am going to share my summer playlist with you!!

So here it is:

“Molly’s Super-Awesome-Fantastic-Totally Rad-Summer Playlist”

Now, here is where we get to the Free Food part. Because I am nosy curious, I want to know what some of your favorite songs are for the summertime.

Here’s the deal:

Leave a comment telling me your favorite song(s) to listen to in the summer, and I will put your name into a drawing. What will you win? Good question.

The first prize is a $10.00 gift certificate to:

This Place

I’ve heard that they have a killer Peach Milkshake, not that I’ve had one, (well unless you count the 10 or so samples) but I’ve heard it’s amazing. And they now have a smaller size for those of us trying to watch their waist line. Because you know a smaller size of milkshake makes all the difference in the world.

The 2nd prize is a $5.00 gift certificate to:

This Place

I’m a huge fan of the “Cake Batter” ice cream, mix it with some rainbow sprinkles, and voila! A birthday party in your mouth!

The giveaway will close on Saturday at 12:00 am, SHARP! I’ll draw the two names on Sunday and let you know on Monday who the lucky blessed winners are! Happy entering!!

You know I run for free food! One of my favorite summertime songs is “Sittin’ on the Dock of the Bay” by Otis Redding. Maybe cliche but it takes me to a hammock swinging between two oak trees on the Carolina coast (South Carolina, that is).

    Really love Carolina girls

My favorite summertime tunes are definitely NOT the Beach Boys – that would be the obvious summer song band, but my mom loved it so much while I was growing up that I hope to never hear their music again.

    Ahem.

I don’t know that I seasonally categorize my music, but I can tell you that right now in my CD player is the Laura Story CD and I am totally loving it – I feel like I am having a true worship session every time I listen/sing to it.

Thanks for introducing us to Laura – she is fabulous!

So there you have it…pick me, PICK ME!
