Growing in Grace

My wonderful life and the people who make it that way.

And What is it That You Do? March 31, 2009

I realize many of you do not know what it is I do to carve out a living for myself. Once again, my humblest apologies. Basically, in a nutshell, I work for a company in my hometown called Mountaineer Sheet Metal that is owned by this guy:

Except he isn’t this cuddly at the office. No sirree, Bob. He’s a little more professional at the office. Oh, and he happens to be my dad. Yes, the secret is out. I work in my family’s business. Now lest you think that there is much wailing and gnashing of teeth, let me correct you. I have a great working relationship with my brothers, dad, and uncle, and Lisa (she’s not biological, but I count her as family.) We all have mutual respect for one another, and get along very nicely.

My main job is to help Drew with the marketing. This is who I report to every morning:

It’s a charming experience, I’m sure. In addition to getting along with one another we are always there to help each other out. For instance just today Drew was in need of some help and Dustin heroically stepped in to lend a hand:

No, Drew is not being slain in the Spirit. He is getting his back popped by Dustin.

Ahhh, that feels much better! Hey, that’s what brothers are for…

Of Birthdays and Apologies March 30, 2009

Ahem, this is beginning to get too familiar. Once again, my blogging has fallen on the back burner. But this is going to be The Week that you will get something new everyday!

In honor of Monday I would like to post a memoir to my brother’s 29th birthday celebration. It’s hard to believe these guys have been around for 29 years! Man! That is OLD!

And here are the birthday boys:

Jack and Tony

Jack and Tony

I call them Jack and Tony because they remind me of, well, Jack and Tony off of the tv show “24″. Here is a picture of Jack and Tony:

Can’t you see the resemblance? After taking several photos of the birthday boys (BB’s) I took my mandatory “I’m your aunt, so smile for the camera” photos.

I think Ruthie exemplifies how each of them felt:

They were overjoyed to have their picture taken by me, once again, Ward clearly demonstrates this joy:

I’m afraid that I have scarred them for life. I just can’t help it, though. Their little faces are just too cute to not take photos of. They will thank me for this one day.

As with any birthday celebration, we had chocolate cake and enjoyed it to the last crumb. Some more than others:

She licked the entire plate clean. I’m sure she’ll love this picture as she gets older.

It was a great party, and I was very irresponsible to not take pictures of the BB’s opening presents or blowing out their candles. I am a lame sister. Shame, shame on me. Oh, well there is always next year!

See you tomorrow!

Jack and Tony want you back tomorrow…

Prayer for Stellan March 25, 2009

I have just recently come across MckMama’s blog, because I love her photography, and her writing. You should check it out sometime! But right now I ask that you pray for her youngest little boy, Stellan. Stellan is in the hospital with some serious heart problems. Please pray that Stellan would be healed and able to come home soon!

No, I did not take this, and yes, it has been photoshopped. But I still thought that the little girl was humourous with her hair.

Oh Man… March 16, 2009

Oh Man, it’s been a long time. Sorry I didn’t post anything last week. To be honest, I had nothing. I couldn’t come up with anything interesting or fun to write about. And here we are: Monday, March 15th, 2009. And I’ve got nothing. That leaves me with only one option: a video from, where else? Youtube! This is a song that I heard a long time ago, and was recently re-introduced to it. I love it. The lyrics are so simple and true. Hope you are encouraged today.
